FAQ
Everything I get asked before someone joins, answered plainly.
Not here? Ask me through my support page and I will answer you directly.
A monthly membership where I mentor doulas. You get a live Doula Office Hours Zoom with me every week, a new Doula Deep Dive training every month, short classes on the tools, the business templates I have built over thirty years, a private community, and a member-only podcast feed. It is mentoring for working doulas, not a course with an end date.
You do not need to be certified yet, and you do not need years behind you. You do need your doula training finished, and after that, doulas at every stage are in here.
A membership. There is no fixed curriculum and no timeline. You join, you get everything, and you stay as long as it is useful. New material arrives every week and every month.
Doula Office Hours is the weekly live Zoom session inside the membership. It kept that name because that is exactly what it is: you turn up, you ask, I answer. The membership itself is the Doula Mentoring Collective, and it lives here at MentoringDoulas.com. If you were in the old Doula Office Hours program, this is the same thing, expanded, at a new address.
Members bring whatever is on their minds. A tricky client. A pricing question. A clause in a contract that does not read right. Something that happened at a birth. A decision that has been sitting untouched for a month. I answer, and other members who have been through the same thing join in. About an hour, every week.
The other reason to come is simply to be around other doulas. Often someone asks the question you did not think to ask, and you walk out with something you were not even looking for. We lovingly call that side door coaching.
They rotate. Some are during the day and some are in the evening, and I move them around the week on purpose so that everyone gets a real chance to come live. All times are Eastern.
The schedule, the Zoom link and the calendar invitation all come in your welcome email as soon as you join, and the dates go out every month.
Every call is recorded and added to the library, and you can bring your question to the community any time instead. Plenty of members mostly watch recordings and turn up live when a week allows it.
A new Doula Deep Dive arrives every month, twelve a year, each one taught by me or by an outside expert. Four are available at any one time, because each one stays for four months. That keeps the library the size of something you will actually watch instead of an archive you feel behind on.
The shorter mini-classes on tools do not expire. Neither do the weekly Doula Office Hours recordings.
Because a new one arrives every month and each stays four months. It keeps the library the size of something you will actually watch. An older Deep Dive leaving is the design working, not something breaking.
The mini-classes and the weekly call recordings do not expire, so the library still grows.
Yes. One Doula Deep Dive each quarter carries one CE contact hour, which comes to four CE contact hours a year, and the credit is accepted across DONA, ICEA, Lamaze and others. CE comes with your membership rather than being billed on top of it.
More than fifty recorded Doula Office Hours sessions going back to February 2025, plus four Doula Deep Dive trainings live at any one time and the mini-classes on the tools, which stay available permanently.
I would rather tell you that than quote a headline number. A big archive total counts rows in my own records; what matters is what you can open on the day you join.
Finding clients, pricing and raising your rates, marketing when you are a one-person business, insurance, taxes and what a doula business actually costs, what your contract needs to cover, working with hospital staff, specialty certifications and which are worth it, burnout, and the on-call life. New topics arrive every week out of what members are dealing with.
No. I am not a lawyer. Contract law changes state by state, so a template I wrote could be wrong where you practice, and you would not find out until it mattered. What you get is what a doula contract needs to cover, the parts doulas most often leave out, and the questions to take to a lawyer. Bring me yours on a call and I will read it.
$37 a month, or $297 for the year, which saves you $147 and comes to just under four months free. Everything is included at either price. There are no tiers and no add-ons.
If you did your doula training with me, you pay a lower rate for the same membership. Same calls, same trainings, same templates, same community. Your discounted link is waiting in the Alumni Discount Hub inside your alumni library, and the discount applies to every payment for as long as you stay a member, not only the first one.
Not sure whether your training qualifies, or cannot find the link? Ask me through my support page before you buy and I will sort it out.
No. It is $37 a month and you can cancel any time. There is no contract and no cancellation fee.
Yes. Membership runs month to month and you can cancel any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, so you keep your access until then. Because this is a digital membership, I do not give refunds, including for unused time inside a period. Cancelling stops any future billing instead.
One thing worth knowing: cancelling stops the billing straight away, but I close portal access by hand. If you cancel and can still see the member area for a day or two, nothing has gone wrong.
No. Your rate is locked at the price you joined on and stays there for as long as your membership is active, on whichever plan you bought. If the standard price rises, it rises for new members, not for you. If you cancel and rejoin later, the rate current at that point applies.
No. Membership is for one person and is not transferable, and the recordings, templates and resources inside are for your own professional use rather than to pass on or resell.
No. Your membership carries over exactly as it is. You do not need to re-subscribe, re-register or buy anything again, and your rate does not change. The only difference is the address: everything lives here now, and you get in with your own personal access link. If you cannot find that link, request a new one from the member portal page and it will come straight to your email.
Yes. Billing is unchanged. You can update your card, change your details or manage your subscription at the customer hub, the same place you have always used.
Ask me through my support page. It comes straight to me.
